Quilty year in review

A year end review of all my quilty stuff for 2014.
I do a review like this so I can have them all in one place to look back on.




January

I made a quilt for Rebecca for her second girl. post: here















I also made a couple pillows for Sue (I made a quilt last year with her daddys pjs post: here) So even though i didnt blog these separately they are now documented :)


















I also started swimming so I made a tote for myself to take my wet stuff home in. Post: here














February

But then that tote was too small, so i had to make a bigger one. This one was crazy big! post: here

I made myself a medium one but not sure i have taken pics of it.
















March

in March my parents came for a visit on the way to Florida and I offered to make mom a big bag and a holder for her Nexus 7. Post: here

we found out the bag was big enough for my son :)

it appears that I have made a bag for +MC Rothwell that i didnt blog about. this is the medium size I made for myself.

April

April saw my parents stopping by on their way home from Florida and I had made some placemats and pillows. Post: here

May, June. July

May had us on a road trip and I didnt post anything in June and in july we were in canada.





August

I made a quilt for someone who had been on a mission trip that saw her in 11 countries in 11 months. post: here

I also finished a mystery quilt for my quilt guild that is not finished or blogged about. but the top is done :)










We went back to Canada again this time for my sisters wedding!!

I am working on a wedding quilt for her that was used as the guest book. no sneak peeks!

This is a table topper I made for MC to give to Judy's daughter to go with the napkins that she made her.

also not blogged anywhere.

September

In september I went to my quilt guilds retreat where I made a scissor holder, a tablet/phone holder, and a table topper for MC to give to Judy's daughter to match other napkins, and a baby quilt for a friend

I also finished my sisters quilt top!






October

In October I had a couple quilts displayed at the local Arts council. post: here

November

In November I was able to give my friend her baby quilt for her 4th girl. post: here


I also made two more pillows for Sue to finish off the order from above :) Another that i didnt blog.









December

I did a lot more this year than I thought I did. I have been so bad at blogging that it was a good thing I went through my pictures :)

quilt guild gift exchange

each year my quilt guild does a gift exchange at the Christmas party.

This year we decided to do it a little bit different.

We had everyone bring in 4-5 fat quarters and put them, with their name, into a paper bag. Everyone then chose a different bag to take home. 

The rule was to use something out of each piece that was put in the bag. you could add from your own stash as well. 

This is what I made. 

She gave the yellow stripe, the red swirl, 2 of the batiks and one yellow. I had a hard time coming up with how I was going to use it. I bought the mouse pattern and my friend said the yellow looked like cheese. perfect!

I decided that she looked a little cold so I made a little shawl for her. 

 the hat and shawl are removable so that she can be out year round.

 The pattern called for only one ear and to sew the hat on. i made it with two ears. and made the feet stick up rather than point inwards like it called for.

Christmas Gifts

Here is a photo spree of some of the pot holders i made for teachers as well as the 2014 Pay it Forward thing on facebook.

For the teachers they were wrapped around a couple wooden spoons and also had a red box gift card

I mailed off a couple of these ornaments.

one had to be "tossed" as the ric rack melted!!

First ever one!

Tea Time for Deborah

I have a friend who really loves all things british. 

My guild was doing charm poker with red white and blue. Im not American so I looked for other non patriotic red, white, and blue charms. I found some christmas ones and then these!! I ordered both and used some of each for the charm poker. 

I knew who would be getting the rest of the fabric- but with what? humm... 

The britts like tea- why not a tea wallet?

I think i used this tutorial but didnt have long enough pieces so i pieced some together.

but I still had some more fabric... A mug rug would be a good pair!
so i whipped one together.

the front- I even ended up adding a little pocket for a teabag and spoon.

Quick and easy baby quilt for April

I went to a baby shower back for April in August but didnt have a quilt made for the baby. I included a note saying I was going to make a quilt for the baby and get it to her later.

Well its made. and still in my possession. I keep forgetting to bring it places i know where she will be or if i do remember shes not there tht time!

so I thought i better post it before the year is up!!

so here is a simple 2 fabric quilt with quilting with a walking foot.

but i LOVE this fabric and this designer. I have done another quilt with these guys as well.
