Quilts on Display

One of my aquafit class members insisted that i needed to enter a quilt into the Caldwell Visual Artist Competition at the local arts council. It cost $10 to enter two pieces of art in.

I thought, "why not?"

You may remember this first one and possibly even signed the back of it because its a geocaching quilt that is also a trackable and an actual cache on open caching.us (or soemthing like that, I just make the quilt!)

its not common for artists to allow their work to be touched while on display (ESPECIALLY quilts)
I always want to.
So since these quilts are actually in use quilts I thought It would be nice to let people touch them

This second quilt was one I had completed in the time frame required (last 12 months). it was this one blogged over here

oh and the NFS- is Not For Sale

Home Improvement - driveway and screened porch

When we first moved into this house the screened in porch had this old ugly outdoor carpet in it.
The one corner was a bit smooshy but we thought it was just a loose board.  We just stayed away from it for the most part.

We finally got the other stuff in the house fixed up and it was time to do the porch.

Our handyman Mr. Dale Hanson opened up the floor and found a whole rotted away section. He did a great job of fixing it up.

The kids loved watching him work

As he fixed the edges of the porch

yay- new safe floor!

Dale and his buddy put in the tile on as angle as I requested.
It was more work for them but I think it was totally worth it!

and then it rained!!

good thing the tile machine is used to water.

(i was trying to get them to take a break while it was raining but they wouldnt!)

yay!!

and a new door

with the furniture.

And I bought new table and chairs (with some halloween decorations)

And the Driveway
We had the driveway done while we were in Canada. We came home to find our driveway paved for us with no inconveniences :)

The kids love the driveway to bike on!

the kids watching the recycling and garbage pick up on the new driveway

Bonnies baby quilt

Bonnie is a friend for the last year or so. She is pregnant with her 4th baby girl and I'm so excited for her!!

This is the first baby I could make a quilt for (for Bonnie)

I had the main block fabric(elephants, bunnies, and cake) from a road trip. I don't remember the name but I got them in St. Charles, Missouri.
Im glad I like her so much since the fabric was high end!

The rest was walmart fabric and it matches so well!

I made this at the Fall retreat for my quilt guild. I ended up messing up the blocks and had to re cut the finished blocks!!

I had the one yard for the back and added some other colours.

It kinda can be used both directions. bunnies up or elephants up.
I did mess up the one block. can you find it?
