then started freaking out like something was biting his bum

took off undies and discovered an unwipped bum

then a couple more had bugs

wont go inbecause there is bug eggs on his carpet

i told him if he didnt clean his room he wouldnt get to sew woith me. which would have been happening with me now

martian skins

let me tell you a story that my dad told my son.

See that pond over there?

see all the green stuff in the pond? 

(way more than in this photo as this was taken later)

do you know what that stuff is?

its Martian Skin. 

really, it is. 

Do you know how it got there?

Martians come at night, once they know you are sleeping, and dive into the pond. There they shed a layer of skin which then grows into the algae. 

the Martians then zoom back up to the sky and they go so fast they dry off quickly. 

This story came up because we were cleaning out the pond for my sisters wedding. 

Zeke was a big help 

mom and Melissa pulled it out and then let it dry. this is them cleaning up the dried algae. 

Later we went to visit Dave's parents and went to a local marina for a walk. 

we were walking along and then we hear Zeke exclaim "look! Martian skin"

We tried to get him to think this was a spaceship. 

He just told us its a thing to pick up the martian skin.

so this has become a thing at Pake and Grandmas house. 

but would it last?

We get home from our trip and Zeke sees these guys on Phineas and Ferb

and calls me over and says "mom, those are the martians that left their skin in Pakes pond!

oh, his poor teachers! they will not know what he is talking about!

TV time

I have a rule that Zeke can't watch TV except for just before nap time or just before bed. And he knows the rule.

Daddy will often watch TV out of those times if he is around.

So today Zeke sidded up to Dave and asked if he could watch TV. Specifically asked him "are you ready to watch more Top Gear, daddy?"

I head and asked him "when are you allowed to watch tv"

His response?  "when daddy is here"










Bwahahaha!  That made laugh.  A lot.

Zeke bedtime and maps

I just heard zeke praying with daddy and he prayed for each member of the tv show Phineas and Ferb.  as well Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear. And ended it with "the end"

We were going to go walk at a walking park that goes in a circle around a pond. Zeke went to his room to get a map (i think of nova scotia) and proceed to map out where we were going and what roads we needed.

the songs change in pitch and they also get a warble at the last word too 

this kid cracks me up. I love listening to him play. his cars and trains get into all kinds of fun situation and they are polite and help each other out out. and then crash

I am so proud of Zeke. He wrote this by himself without guidelines. I did tell him the next letter though.

Zeke made a pretend phone call and this is what he said:
"hi nana/poppa, hi Gramma/pake.
do you want to come over?

*pause*

I have a lot of fun things to do. 

*pause*

like playing outside and with my toys and colouring books".

So I asked Dave if he wanted a beer. 
20 minutes or more go by and I hear a "mommy, mommy" coming from Zeke's room. 
I go in to see what he wants and he turns to me and says so sweetly 

"you havent gotten me a beer yet"

18 April

Zeke came in this morning from playing outside with his pants down and said:

"mommy I need my bum wiped. I pooped outside like a dog"
and now he doesnt remember where he pooped

9 April

Zeke said today:
"when I grow up I will wear my cowboy costume, and wear my cowboy hat and be a cowboy. then when i grow up again i will wear my construction hat"

so I asked him if he will grow up 2 times. "yes I grow up 2 times. one time I be a cowboy one time I be construction worker"

Zeke would have made my mom proud today.

we woke up from naps (not that he slept) but he said it was "tea time"
i never have tea time
so today we do

Dave says to Zeke that its almost freezing outside. Zeke replies "noooo its almost colding"

I think Zeke just had his first date.

he wanted to call Katie Bast (his babysitter) and ask her if she was coming over tonight. She told him no, but she would be at the Talent Night at Church. Zeke then asked her if she wanted to sit with us.
when we got to church there was music playing and Zeke cut in on the kid that Katie was dancing with to dance with her.
Katie did eat dinner with us and took him over for dessert.

so he called a girl, took her out for dinner and dancing and there are only 14? years between them.

Well Zeke has started to use the saying " well, here's the thing".

He doesn't really use it in the right sense but its still cute.

So I had to go wake Zeke up from his nap and went into his room. I thought he was under his blankets- so I lifted them up and no- he wasnt there.
I heard snoring so I knew he was nearby.
I checked in his tent- no.
still snoring.

where?
check under the bed...

way at the back corner of his bed

Zeke doesnt nap very often anymore. He will spend 2 hours in his room playing. One time after his nap was done he brought out his shark box and a pencil and said "look mommy, I make it pretty"

so we had to have a talk about where he colours and he understood that it was only on paper. The next nap time he coloured in crayon in a book and said "mommy, I colour on paper"

So today Zeke came and told me that he peed in his play room. Not unusual at all with a potty trainee. So I was cleaning it up when I noticed where EXACTLY he was.

Z was looking at my earrings today and asked me "how did you get holes in your ears.

it will be quiet in the house, or we will be watching tv and Zeke will turn to us, unprompted, and say "I love you back"
