Michelles Quilt

My longest friend Michelle moved into a new place last year.
I made this quilt for her. I have been meaning to do a plus quilt for a long time. Finally at spring retreat I was able to make this.

I did it in one day. drew out the plans. cut it up. sewed, basted, quilted and bound before midnight!

She loves orange. Her house is in greys. and she loves butterflies.

Plus it looks really good on my moms porch

I was goign to write the year and then wrote my postal code... lol! I fit the year on after all.

She loves it!

Looks awesome on her couch

and good on her chair too!

A Quilt for Kaley

wow- I havent posted in a long time.

I still need to recap last years quilts and blog about the two other quilts I have finished.

But first, here is the quilt I made for a little girl

Abigail modeling the top for me

I like how it came out of the wash machine
One of the first books Kathy bought for her daughter was
"You Are My Cupcake" by Joyce Wan

These characters are adorable.
I put the opened eyed ones on pink and the closed eyed ones on purple.
Kaley can play a matching game :)

This label was on the sheet of fabric that she had gotten.

fancy stitches on the binding

the back

signed

and labeled

Tea Time for Deborah

I have a friend who really loves all things british.
My guild was doing charm poker with red white and blue. Im not American so I looked for other non patriotic red, white, and blue charms. I found some christmas ones and then these!! I ordered both and used some of each for the charm poker.

I knew who would be getting the rest of the fabric- but with what? humm...

The britts like tea- why not a tea wallet?
I think i used this tutorial but didnt have long enough pieces so i pieced some together.

but I still had some more fabric... A mug rug would be a good pair!
so i whipped one together.

 the back- straight line quilting

the front- I even ended up adding a little pocket for a teabag and spoon.

sorry for the cell phone pics I didnt feel like going downstairs to find my camera pictures!

found them:

Bonnies baby quilt

Bonnie is a friend for the last year or so. She is pregnant with her 4th baby girl and I'm so excited for her!!

This is the first baby I could make a quilt for (for Bonnie)

I had the main block fabric(elephants, bunnies, and cake) from a road trip. I don't remember the name but I got them in St. Charles, Missouri.
Im glad I like her so much since the fabric was high end!

The rest was walmart fabric and it matches so well!

I made this at the Fall retreat for my quilt guild. I ended up messing up the blocks and had to re cut the finished blocks!!

I had the one yard for the back and added some other colours.

It kinda can be used both directions. bunnies up or elephants up.
I did mess up the one block. can you find it?

Toronto and CN tower

One day we went to Toronto because Zeke wanted to ride on a city bus

Zeke read a book like any good commuter

We then went to the Bata Shoe Museum and tried on some shoes while we waited for my friend to finish up

and headed to the CN Tower

some were braver than others to go on the glass floor
