The Renaissance Faire 2013

For a 3rd year in a row +Dave DeBaeremaeker and I took the kids to the Renaissance Faire in Huntersville NC.

It runs on weekends in October and November.
The weekend before Halloween they have trick and treat at all the booths. We accidently found out about it the first year we went.
Its a wonderful thing as its a safe environment (as much as fairs are), no cars, daylight, and a great community of people.

They encourage dressing up for the kids (as well as adults)
Zeke wanted to be a black flying butterfly

off to get some candy at a booth

Camel rides. After a scream fest getting her on, Abigail giggled the whole ride!

We watched a bird show

and belly dances

 lots of costumes

More photos and a video of minstrels

Zeke's 4th

We celebrated Zekes birthday a couple days early.

For at least 6 months he has been telling us that he wanted to have his birthday at Sunday School.

So we started off the day by bringing cupcakes to share at sunday school.

Then we had some friends join us for lunch and cake.

The morning was very wet with dew and some rain so we decided to eat lunch inside. That meant some last minute decorating.
We had sun by the time we started the party.

and then I moved a table and chair into Zekes room so he could enjoy some of his new toys (stickers and colouring)

BUT after nap time he had coloured on his sheets and pillow case.
grrr
we had a talk
so away they went right away.

oh well.

tomorrow we try other presents.
