Baby quilt for melissa #3

My sister Melissa had her 3rd baby!

Because of the Pandemic I was unable to take this up to her and deliver it to her (or take photos)

Little Harold was born Nov 16th and I mailed this quilt to them the same day. But I had it ready already.

It started back in late 2018. My friend MC wanted to design a quilt and us do it as a mystery quilt. She was hoping for a tessellating pattern.

I started with this plane fabric

found some to go with it!

turned out pretty cute

It was too cute to just give away to anyone, so I wanted to keep it for Melissa if and when she had another baby. In fact I kept both a boy and girl quilt just in case. She doesnt find out the gender while pregnant so I had to wait for Harold to be born before mailing it so I knew which one to send!

isnt he cute!

A quilt for Lydia

My youngest sister had her second baby on my birthday!! 37 years apart :)

I made this quilt a fair bit bigger than my normal baby quits. The older my kids get the bigger the baby quilts are as I realize how much nicer the larger size is. I didnt get a final measurement on this though

Her older brother Benjamin LOVES this quilt and will likely be using it for a bit first :)

I was able to go visit them when Lydia was 1 month old.

He really loves it

He will be moving into a toddler bed in the next few months and it fits perfectly!!

Melissa's Wedding Quilt

Last year my sister announced she was getting married. I knew what I wanted to do for her- A quilt of course!

As I was talking about colours etc. I asked her about a signature quilt rather than just a regular quilt.

So I made up the blocks to take to the wedding and had a station so everyone could sign them.

the doors led to the Brunch line

Since that time I was working on getting the blocks together and a backing and getting it to the quilters.

I managed to finish it in time to bring it with me to my parents house this summer. Less than a year from her wedding date! I made my goal!

this is the back. both were taken at moms house.

Dave and I had a plan of going on a road trip without the kids so we took a detour and dropped this off at Melissa and Bobs.

 They loved it!

If you want to read the individual squares they are in this album:

Melissa's Bachelorette Party

Dave and I headed to canada one day early. this enabled me to go with both my sisters and hang out for my youngest sisters bachelorette party!

We met up at my middle sister, Amanda's, house where we got ready.

Here we go! off to a night of adventures!

Go karting!!!!

getting into the cars :)
We got the bigger ones so we didnt have to stand in line and we could all start the same time.

Between each lap we had to drop off a ticket for the next lap. Sometimes there was a bit of a back up. it happened only once for each sister that I passed them before that spot and was able to get a picture of them behind me :)

While waiting to get into the restaurant we made sashes that said Bride and Maid of honour and Bridesmaid (although that was an honorary title for me)

Skylon tower!

Inside the sykon tower was this glass shop. so pretty!!
we look pretty good for hand making most of our decorations!

walking by the falls

 Clifton Hill

and to finish off our night we decided to take missy to go ride a bull

We were actually fairly tired at this point so we headed back to Amanda's where we got snacks, watched Bridesmaids and spent the night.

Such a great night!

thanks for letting me come!
